The Vogts Sisters to be in Band Auction

On Saturday, April 19th, our daughters will participate in a Band Auction at KKFI 90.1 FM Community Radio in Kansas City, MO. The auction is part of an annual fund raiser to help support this amazing radio station that offers their genre of music--bluegrass, folk, and Americana.

What is it? - A fund raiser where nearly 100 bands each donate a two-hour concert to be auctioned to the highest bidder during the showcase auction.

How does it work? - Each act is scheduled for a 30-minute live performance on one of KKFI's music shows held over a ten-day period from April 10-28. During that 30 minute showcase, listeners call in and bid. The highest bidder then works with the band to arrange for a 2-hour gig to be held in the next 12 months. The number to call during the showcase is (888) 931-0901. Bids will be taken during the scheduled 30 minutes that each act is showcased.

What does the high bid receive? - A two-hour gig to be scheduled with the band within the next 12 months. This could be a birthday party, anniversary party, class reunion, block party, etc. Gigs are usually limited to a 50-mile radius of the KC area. (*See note below.)

What is the minimum bid? - Generally, the minimum bid is $100 for a solo act, and $200 for a band.

What if I'm unable to listen and bid that day? - Advanced bids are accepted. Simply email Bill at KKFI (billc@kkfi.org) and let him know your maximum bid. KKFI will serve as your agent in getting the band of your choice at as low a price as the bidding allows, but no more than your stated maximum bid.

So, what does this mean for The Vogts Sisters? - The girls will be showcased on Saturday, April 19 from 11:30 AM-Noon during the Woman's Song Music Show. *Because we do not live in the Kansas City area, we are able to provide a wider range for a possible gig and will accepts bids between SE Kansas and the KC area. If you're unable to tune in to the show on your radio, you may listen to a live-stream online or learn more about the auction HERE.

What does all of this mean? - The high bidder gets a two hour gig donated by the participating band for live music for a birthday, anniversary, or party. KKFI gets the money, and the band gets the exposure.
