Kansas Sampler Festival

This Friday, we will be traveling north to Wamego for the Kansas Sampler Festival, where our daughters, The Vogts Sisters, will be performing.

Known as the state’s largest traveling festival, this event is primarily a travel show and an opportunity to showcase the best of Kansas to visitors looking for stay-cation and day trip ideas. For those looking to book Kansas musicians and historic performers, this is the perfect place to enjoy our state’s talent and book them for local or regional events.

This “all Kansas, all weekend” event will be held in Wamego at the City Park on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, May 4 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The festival is designed to provide the public a sample of what there is to see, do, hear, taste, learn, and buy in Kansas. In addition to the entertainment and historic performances, the festival will also showcase community attractions, Kansas products, and Kansas foods. Entertainers and all historic performers will also have booths. More than 150 communities will be represented at this Kansas celebration, including several from SE Kansas. Learn more about the festival HERE.

A project of the Inman-based Kansas Sampler Foundation, the festival was originally held on the Penner Farm near Inman for eight years and then has made two-year stops in Pratt, Ottawa, Independence, Newton, Garden City, Concordia, Leavenworth and Liberal.

We are looking forward to our time in Wamego and hope to meet lots of new friends and listeners there! If you plan to go, please make plans to stop by one of the girls' shows.

They will be performing on the Sunset Stage (West Side Park) on Saturday from 10:30 - 11:00 AM, and on the Sunrise Stage (East Side Park) on Sunday afternoon from 1:45-2:15. They'll also have shows in the Southeast Kansas Tent located on the Sunset Campus just north of the Wamego Historical Museum. Hope to see you there! Click HERE for a view of the festival map.
